FINANCIAL SERVICES GUIDE
This Financial Services Guide was prepared on 1 December 2010 and issued by Mine Life Pty Ltd

You have the right to ask us about our charges, the type of advice we will provide you, and what you can do if you have a complaint about our services.

This Financial Services Guide (‘FSG’) is intended to inform you of certain basic matters relating to our relationship, prior to us providing you with a financial service.

The matters covered by the FSG include: who we are; how we can be contacted; what services we are authorised to provide to you; details of our professional indemnity insurance; how we (and any other relevant parties) are remunerated; details of any potential conflicts of interest; and details of our internal and external dispute resolution procedures, along with how you can access them.

It is intended that this FSG should assist you in determining whether to use any of the services described in this document.

In the event we make a recommendation to acquire a particular financial product (other than securities), we must provide you with a Product Disclosure Statement containing information about the particular product, which will enable you to make an informed decision in relation to the acquisition of that product.

Please keep this FSG for future reference. Should you lose it, a copy is available from us on request or can be downloaded from our website at www.minelife.com.au

What kind of financial services are we authorised to provide and to what kind of products do those services relate?

Summit Equities Pty Ltd is licensed by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission to provide personal financial product advice in relation to securities to retail and wholesale clients. MineLife will provide only general advice to you. We will provide this advice though our newsletters, e-letters, website and reports.

We provide general financial product advice only, as distinct from personal financial product advice. The advice from MineLife has been prepared without taking into account your objectives, financial situations or needs. You should, before acting on our recommendations, consider their appropriateness to your specific investment objectives, financial situation and needs. If you are uncertain as to what your objectives and needs are, you should contact a financial adviser or stockbroker who is licensed to provide you with personal financial product advice.

We do not directly offer any service for you to buy or sell the securities we recommend. However, Summit Equities does offer such services. In addition, a complete list of stockbrokers who are licensed to deal in securities is available from the Australian Securities Exchange ( www.asx.com.au).


How do we get paid and do we pay anyone else for referrals?

MineLife is a subscription-based service. A subscription fee is payable when you subscribe to a newsletter.

MineLife does not receive any other fees, commissions or benefits for the services it provides (or in respect of the advice it gives). Subscribers are not referred to us, so we do not pay any commissions or other benefits as referral fees to third parties.

All employees of MineLife receive a salary. They may also receive performance based bonuses. No employee is entitled to any other fees, commissions or benefits from MineLife or any other person in relation to the financial services provided.


How do we manage potential conflicts of interest?

MineLife does not have any relationships or associations with any financial product providers that influence, or could reasonably be expected to influence, us in the provision of financial services that we are licensed to provide.

Our staff is required to comply with a staff securities trading policy, details of which are available upon request.


What should I know about the risks of the financial product advice we provide?

There are risks with all securities. Their prices may fall as well as rise, and there is a chance you could lose your entire investment.

We assign risk ratings to the securities we recommend in our report. Note that these risk ratings are general in nature. However you should consult your own financial advisor if you are unsure of your either your risk profile or the suitability of a recommendation to your own situation.

As indicated above, we provide general financial product advice only. We do not provide personal product advice. You should consult a financial advisor or stockbroker who is licensed to provide you with personal financial product advice if you require any advice on securities, or managed investment schemes, or you require assistance in determining your particular risk profile.


What information do we maintain in your file and what do we do with it?

We keep your name and address details in our database for the purpose of providing the services you request. We may also keep your telephone, mailing address and email details if you provide them to us. In addition, a record may be kept of correspondence between you and us, including emails, telephone conversations and letters. At any time, you may change or remove your details by contacting us.

We may from time to time inform you of special offers. You may opt out of receiving details of these offers. MineLife respects your privacy and abides by the Privacy Act 2002.


How do you make a complaint?

We try to adhere to the highest standard of conduct at all times. Nevertheless, we understand there may be times when you would like to make a complaint about our services. Our dispute resolution process is as follows:

  1. Contact us and tell us about your complaint. We will try to resolve it fairly and within two (2) working days.
  2. If it is not resolved satisfactorily, please write to the Director of MineLife with your complaint, using the contact details in this FSG.
  3. If your complaint still cannot be resolved, our licensee, Alexa Group Pty Ltd, is a member of an external dispute resolution scheme called The Financial Industry Complaints Services (FICS). FICS can be telephoned on 1300 780 808 and its website is www.fics.asn.au. The FICS will advise the formal complaint procedure. There is no fee to subscribers for this service.
  4. The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) also has an information line which you can use to make a complaint or obtain information about your rights. The telephone number is 1300 300 630. www.asic.gov.au/asic/asic.nsf


Professional Indemnity Insurance

In accordance with the requirements of the Corporations Act, Mine Life Pty Ltd maintains adequate Professional Indemnity Insurance. This insurance cover extends to claims in relation to our conduct as authorised representative and our employees and representatives past and present, to compensate clients for loss or damage suffered if we provide negligent advice.
